Apr 24, 2023

ילו הייז - Yellow Haze is a sativa-dominant hybrid strain by Cloud 9.

THC Content: 5.6%

CBD Content: 11.7%

Related (Parent) Strains: Northern Lights #5 x Skunk x Haze; Mango Haze

Terpenes: β-Caryophyllene, Humulene, Myrcene, Pinene

Indoors/Outdoors: Indoors (Greenhouse)

Smell: Dank, Heavy, Skunky, Earthy

Taste: Boldly earthy, but smooth

On days when I need to be more functional, or am in slight pain (but not enough to need something exclusively high CBD), I can count on Yellow Haze being there for me. I find that while a lot of the T10/C10s can boast a higher THC percentage, the balance between the CBD and THC of this strain relaxes me enough to be creative and that the THC further supports that creative outlet. For example, writing this review! I didn't necessarily feel motivated, but after refreshing myself with Yellow Haze, I was suddenly more uplifted and my pain and anxiety was brought enough relief to allow me to be at my best.

The taste and smell are a little strange for a sativa-dominant hybrid, which makes me like Yellow Haze all the more. I tend to respond to dank, earthy smells because I tend to lean Team Indica. Yellow Haze doesn't carry the typical terpenes of a sativa, which may be the reasons why I like it so much. The high Myrcene gives it a musky scent which is an immediate indication to my nose that this is a calming strain- add in the Humulene and Pinene and I know that we're going to have a relaxing time without reaching couchlock territory.

I have to say, I've been really impressed with the flowers that come in from this strain. They felt as if they'd been cut the day before, they were so moist. Even after grinding and keeping it for about a month in a glass jar, the bud is still beautiful, moist, and without mold. The buds are noticeably yellow, as is the vapor it produces; it's no surprise that the strain is called "Yellow Haze." I would normally be wary of a yellowed plant, so it's smart that they've turned this attribute into marketing. Good for them!

The only drawback of this strain is that it triggers a chain of coughs more easily than other strains. There's something about the yellow haze, indeed! It should be noted that I cough whatever the strain, but this one has triggered vomiting from me on more than one occasion. (I have a GI condition that's made me fairly used to vomiting.)

Overall, this is a great strain to use to get through my day as someone who lives with anxiety, depression, and pain. It helps me be a better mom, makes doing dishes a little more tolerable, and can overall be counted on as a good hybrid to keep in my back-stock.
